Clan Control. The main example of feedforward control is a preventive maintenance program. Control theory in sociology is the idea that two control systems—inner controls and outer controls—work against our tendencies to deviate. The main mechanisms of control are policies, standard operating procedures, rules, statistical reports, budgets (and budgetary control), staff performance appraisal and a clear disciplinary framework. STRATEGIC CONTROL. Decentralized control is considered market control. Clan control - is based on corporate culture. Instead of measuring results (as in outcome control) or dictating behaviour (as in behavioural control), clan control is an informal type of control.
